Guest Artist Nelson Ricardo Yovera Perez is the newly appointed Principal Horn of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. Nelson is a frequent substitute with the Chicago Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, and New York Philharmonic, as well as a regular performer at the Marlboro Music Festival, Cleveland Chamberfest and Classical Tahoe. He is the 2023 First Prize Winner in the Brass and Percussion category of the Sphinx Orchestral Partners Auditions.

 

Previously, Nelson was a member of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, making multiple tours of Europe and Latin America under the baton of Maestro Gustavo Dudamel. From 2018-21, he held the position of Associate Principal Horn with the San Juan-Argentina Symphony Orchestra and from 2021-23, he was a member of the Civic Orchestra of ChicagoHe studied with Juan Carlos Maldonado, Ulises Aragón, Daniel Graterol at the National School of Music in Venezuela and with David Cooper and David Griffin at Roosevelt University in Chicago.
